Hong Kong IDEA Software Technology Application Salon was successfully held
On the afternoon of May 8, 2025, a special technical salon was held in THE COFFEE ACADEMICS Wan Chai branch as scheduled, and more than 20 structural engineers from Hong Kong had a full exchange with the technical teams of CMTC and IDEA StatiCa. THE COFFEE ACADEMICS is a fast-rising coffee chain brand in Hong Kong in recent years, which is highly respected by young people and white-collar workers in Hong Kong. They provided excellent food and service for the event, which made the participants spend a wonderful afternoon in a relaxed and pleasant environment.

This salon set up a number of keynote speeches on the functions and applications of the IDEA software, aiming at giving Hong Kong users a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the software and making it really exert the greatest benefits in the design and production process. In the past few years, more than 30 consulting companies and contractors in Hong Kong have adopted IDEA as the main tool to solve the connection analysis and design of steel structure and concrete structure, and have formed a stable user group. The salon also provided a platform for these engineers to communicate with each other. They provided excellent food and service for the event, which made the participants spend a wonderful afternoon in a relaxed and pleasant environment.
Gene Vallente, product manager from IDEA StatiCa APAC, introduced the new features of IDEA V25 and the functions of IDEA Concrete.

Lv Liang, technical support manager from CMTC, introduced the integrated design of steel structure engineering by using IDEA BIM technology and how to create and analyze structural components by using IDEA Members function. At the same time, through eight engineering examples from customers, the IDEA and manual simplified calculation are compared and analyzed, which fully shows the comprehensiveness and accuracy of IDEA in connection analysis.

This salon also invited two customers to share their applications.
Dr. Jake Chan from NIDA Technology Company introduced the integrated application of IDEA technology and localized steel structure analysis software.

Ir. Kevin Wang and Ms. Aatisha Gupta from CUNDALL Hong Kong shared a large number of engineering project cases using IDEA.

The participating engineers also actively participated in the interaction, conducted in-depth exchanges on technical issues, and raised hopes on how IDEA can adapt to the localization needs in Hong Kong. It is believed that this salon activity will further enhance the level and confidence of Hong Kong users in using the IDEA software, and more engineers will join the IDEA user group in the future.
